This captivating framed collage combines vintage matchboxes and hand-cut elements from old books and postage stamps.
The rare matchboxes are sourced by the artist at boot fairs and charity shops with many originating in Eastern Europe, and some dating back to the 1950s.
Andrew meticulously selects each element to produce these unique and intricate pieces.

Andrew Malone is a local artist who lives and works in Whitstable. He has work in the Tate Britain collection and in a number of Artists Book collections. His pieces are formed from a configuration of components: altered and cut-out elements from maps and books, found objects such as feathers and pressed flowers, real objects such as postage stamps and cigarette cards, or match-boxes.
